Who We Are

CRTS is a Christian institute of theology established by and accountable to the federation of Canadian Reformed Churches. We are dedicated to the training of students to serve as faithful, effective ministers of the Gospel. CRTS submits to the doctrine of the infallible Word of God as summarized in the ecumenical creeds and the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.

Academic Excellence

Understand the Word. Communicate the Word. Radiate the Word.

Yes, our faculty have PhD degrees, but more importantly they have a passion for teaching.
We craft our courses to draw from the rich heritage of theological studies in the Reformed tradition, all the while engaging with current scholarship and passing on pastoral insights.

Seminary studies that are biblically based, Christ-centred, and ministry oriented. Relying on the Lord’s blessing, this is what CRTS aims to provide.

Community

“The welcoming community at the seminary made it a smooth landing from overseas. The staff were helpful, the professors were godly mentors, and fellow students became close friends. I’m so thankful that God brought me to CRTS. As well as giving me a solid preparation for ministry, he allowed me a lot of growth in knowing him. The seminary has a treasured place in my heart.”

Rodney denBoer, CRTS Grad 2022

Pastoral Training

An essential aspect of training for the ministry is getting hands-on, practical experience. Besides the classroom learning that happens at CRTS, our students learn outside our walls through ministry internships across their four years of study. This is called the Pastoral Training Program and is an integral component of the Master of Divinity degree.
