Prospective Student Update

July 2025

Welcome to the new CRTS website! We are really excited about the website update and refresh. We are particularly excited about the new section “Considering the Ministry,” dedicated pages to provide information to you, those who are considering studying for the ministry.

Deciding. Preparing. Experiencing. Settling. We have prepared videos, key takeaways, and a question-and-answer section for these topics. Please take some time to look through each page.

Considering the call to the ministry must be done prayerfully and with the advice of people around you (your wife, your parents, your pastor and/or elders, people who know you well).

Allow us to share some other aspects that should be considered.
(borrowed from a book by Allan Harman, Preparation for Ministry, Banner of Truth, 2015)

It is important…

1) to be united to Christ by a living faith (foundational for everything else)
2) to love studying God’s Word
3) to have a desire to see sinners saved through faith in Christ
4) to feel an urge to be a preacher of the gospel
5) to have the intellectual capacity to study for the ministry and to write edifying sermons every week
6) to be able to speak in public
7) to be able to interact comfortably with people of different ages and backgrounds
8) to be able to work and cooperate with others
9) to be able to provide leadership

This list is not meant to discourage. Rather, it is a list that we consider helpful for all those who consider studying for the ministry.

Campus Visit Days

On Thursday, January 8, through Friday, January 9, 2026, we will be hosting a multi-day campus visit event. Join us for a variety of sessions/speeches directed at those considering ministerial studies, have lunch and a special dinner with current students, and enjoy free admission to the CRTS conference happening the evening of January 9 and Saturday, January 10.

We will help you find a place to stay and make sure you have transportation to and from events.

The exact schedule is still to be determined. But feel free to ask Leanne questions now and please save the date!
