CRTS Update & Prayer Request

Under the Lord's blessing, the 2026–27 Academic Year has begun. We started with a chapel focusing on Philippians 1:18 where the apostle Paul says, "Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice." Both within and beyond our seminary, life in this fallen world contains many things that could rob us of rejoicing. However, the apostle focuses our attention on the singularly important goal that Christ is proclaimed, locally and globally. May the Spirit of Christ help us all to maintain that perspective throughout the school year that lies ahead of us.

Here are some prayer items for thanksgiving and petition.

  • We have received our largest ever incoming class of freshmen: eleven new full-time students in the MDiv program, as well as one visiting student from Korea. May the Lord help them through the transitions that they and their loved ones are making. We also want to say a sincere thank-you to everyone in the church, school, and seminary community who has reached out to welcome them and do the little things that can make a big difference.
  • At our annual convocation on Friday,  September 11, we celebrated the graduation of six men from our MDiv program: Jonatan Boon, Klaas Cho, Noah Holtvlüwer, Jarrell Lemos, Arjan van der Meer, and Marco Van Renssen. Some of them have already received calls to serve in churches. Others are awaiting a call. You can read more about them on our Student Profile page.  The Diploma of Missiology was also awarded to one of last year's graduates, Marc Vermeulen. Please ask our heavenly Father to guide all these graduates on their path of service to the King of the church.
  • Two new publications have become available for purchase recently: Dr. Reuben Bredenhof's Ministry of Small Things (P&R Publishing 2026) and Dr. Will den Hollander's two-volume set on 1 Peter: Living Hope for Suffering Sojourners (CRTS Publications 2026). We thank these brothers for sharing their learning and insights through these books. Please look for them wherever you purchase your Christian books.

Finally, to all our seminary supporters and on behalf of everyone here at CRTS, thank-you for your faithful and cheerful support. The cards sent from congregations across the country encouraged us immensely.
