Update and Prayer Request June 2026

June 2, 2026

As the 2025–26 academic year wraps up, we at CRTS are grateful to the Lord for his many good gifts toward us. The final weeks were busy for faculty and staff with marking, meetings, and year-end responsibilities, while the students turned their attention to classis examinations and preparations for internships.

This summer, several students will be serving in Preaching and Pastoral Internships: Zachary Bonura (Burlington-Fellowship, ON), Albert Bijker (Smithers, BC), Arco Klapwijk (Ancaster, ON and Cape Town, SA), Dave Kroeze (Armadale, WA), Iraldo Luna (Smithville, ON), John Moesker (Attercliffe, ON), Jeff Uriarte (Baldivis, WA), Aaron Westrik (Willoughby Heights, BC), and Tyler Witthoeft (Grimsby, ON). Pray that God will bless these brothers and their wives with an enriching summer of ministry!

We also ask you to pray for the brothers who’ll be participating in Mission Internships: Jayden Houweling (Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea), Caleb Poppe (Edmonton), Thomas Van Leeuwen (Niagara migrant ministry), and Zachary Bonura (Streetlight). May the Lord grant each of them rich opportunities for growth.

Five students, along with a graduate from last year, hope to be declared eligible for call: Hongdi Chen, Klaas Cho, Noah Holtvluwer, Jarrell Lemos, Marco van Renssen, and Jonatan Boon. Another graduate, Arjan van der Meer, plans to return to South Africa for a one-year internship. If you haven’t already, check out the graduate profiles on the CRTS website—wonderful to read our Father’s gracious providence in each of their lives.

As students receive permission to speak an edifying word or become eligible for call, the Preaching Availability page on our website will be updated. We commend all our students and graduates to the Lord, praying that He will provide wisdom, strength, and humility as they seek opportunities to serve Christ and his church.

Looking ahead with thankfulness, we anticipate welcoming several new MDiv students for the coming academic year. May Christ continue to build his church through the ministry of the gospel, both in our congregations and on the mission field.
