Thanksgiving and Petition

Here at CRTS preparations are well underway for a new academic year. Yet as the Holy Spirit reminds us in Psalm 127, we can work diligently but we also need our God’s indispensable blessing, otherwise our labours are in vain. With that in mind, please join us in praying for the Lord’s blessing as we start our regular course of studies again.
To be more specific please…
- Thank the Lord for his travelling mercies. Various professors and students travelled quite some distance this summer as they gave special lectures, participated in summer internships, or enjoyed a restful break. As we all “re-convene” in Hamilton, please ask that the Lord would endow professors and students alike with wisdom and insight as we delve into the treasures of the holy gospel.
- Thank the Lord for four new M.Div. students and one new student in the Diploma of Theological Studies program. Since almost all of them are moving into the area from other provinces or countries, please pray that the Lord would help them settle into their new congregations and communities. Also, there are two other students who have been accepted into the B.Th. program, but their visa applications have not yet been approved by the government. Please pray for them during this time of waiting.
- Thank the Lord for the faithful service of Dr. G.H. Visscher, who has served as principal for 9.5 years and will now continue in his role as professor of New Testament. In connection with this, ask for the Lord’s blessing as the faculty at CRTS undergoes a transition in some of our administrative roles: Dr. De Visser will become Vice-Principal, Dr. Visscher will become Registrar, Dr. Van Raalte takes over as Dean of Students and Associate Librarian, and Dr. Van Vliet will serve as Principal.
- Pray for our staff, Ms. Catharine Mechelse (Office Administrator), Mrs. Margaret Alkema (Librarian), and Mrs. Leanne Kuizenga (Faculty Administrative Assistant). They do so much to keep things running smoothly and we’re deeply grateful for them.
We remain sincerely thankful for the prayers and encouragement of our supporting community. We also look forward to seeing many of you at our annual Convocation, scheduled for 8PM on Sept. 8th at Redeemer University College. May we all serve our Lord to the glory of his Name and the promotion of his kingdom.
